Aorus B450 M - Which drivers to chose?

In the list for drivers, there's a myriads of drivers and versions and uhh I don't know what to choose.

Build is Ryzen 5 2600 with Aorus B450M and Corsair Vengence LPX 1*8GB 2666 MHz.

For example, does AMD Chipset Driver 19.10.16 only supports 3rd Gen AMD? If that's the case should I go for 18.50.16.01(which notes "For AMD Ahtlon 200-series APU support")?

On top of that, there's 3 versions of Realtek Lan Drivers( 7.101.0714.2016 , 8.047.0714.2016, 10.31.0828.2018 ), which one should I choose?

Do link me if there's a post about this already, also thanks in advance.

Pick the latest drivers, unless you have issues with them then you can downgrade to an older one. BIOS is a different thing, some older version are more stable on Zen+ then the newer BIOSes, i would use something around F4 or F5.

Main System: Ryzen 2700, Asus Crosshair VII Hero, EVGA GTX 1080ti SC, 970 EVO Plus NVMe, Crucial Ballistix 3200mhz CL14, CM H500, CM ML240L cpu cooler.

Second System: Ryzen 2400G, Gigabyte B450 DS3H, RX 580 Nitro+, Kingston A400 SSD, Team T-Force 3200mhz CL15

If it ain't overclocked it ain't good...

Thanks for the reply.

Now I have yet to run my system since I'm in the midst of moving files for an empty hard drive, but the website did mention that:

Quote

Before update BIOS to F40, you have to install EC FW Update Tool (B19.0517.1 or later version) to avoid 4DIMM DDR compatibility on 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen™ CPU

does it affect me?

Get the latest chipset drivers from AMD: https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/b450

It will include support for all processors, from 1st series to last.

Gigabyte may not update the page of the motherboard often, so it's best to go to AMD for chipset drivers.

For the sound card and network card, they don't publish drivers and motherboard makers sometimes customize the drivers so it's best to get from the Gigabyte website.

Pick the one that's compatible with your operating system.

Also, you should really make an effort to buy a 2nd stick of memory as soon as possible. Your computer will be up to 10-20% faster in games and various applications if you use memory in dual channel mode.

Don't install anything over F4 or F5, it's not meant for Zen+

Main System: Ryzen 2700, Asus Crosshair VII Hero, EVGA GTX 1080ti SC, 970 EVO Plus NVMe, Crucial Ballistix 3200mhz CL14, CM H500, CM ML240L cpu cooler.

You can install the latest BIOS, it's not like it will affect the performance of your system.

It's just that most updates to your BIOS are to increase compatibility with Ryzen 3rd generation processors, and you have a 2nd generation processor, so the updates won't improve or change in any way the behavior of your system.

And... yeah, I guess it is true that in rare cases changes made to add support for new processors may affect how it works with older generations, so if it works well now maybe leave it alone.

Do I only install the driver from AMD's website or do I install the driver from Aorus's site as well? Aorus's driver is significantly larger in file size compared to AMD's. I'll keep note to get another stick of RAM as well.

In my BIOS section, latest is F42d, and the one before F40 is F32. Is F32 the correct choice then?(F40 on is for 3rd Gen AMD support)

Hmm.... I'll see how it goes. I'll stick to F32 and later on upgrade to F42d to see if anything happens. Worse I'll just revert it back to the old BIOS.

I have a 2400G and a B450 DS3H on my second PC, anything over F4 was very very unstable with RAM, i could not even run memory at rated speed and timings and with F4 i was able to overclock the CPU and RAM.

Edit: Download F5, you don't need anything over F30 since it's for new CPUs, if you don't have issues with your current BIOS just don't update it.
