Depends on if you'll abuse the cable or not, CCA is pretty easy to break and then you have no signal :P

Damn good price, would have bought no doubt at that price.  Sad I missed it.  I could do another 50ft run for two more hard lined rooms in the house at that price and not balk (cause its not actually needed till the kids grow up lol)

I would hope they installed at least that since it's been the standard for probably ~10 years now at least if not 15, but the benefit to higher tiers like Cat 6A are that they can support/achieve faster speeds, and/or longer distances.

 

iirc, CAT 5e means it will do gigabit up to 100 ft... or 100 m... not sure.  Cat 6a iirc is the same length, but at 10 Gbit.

Just checked and these free ones they installed are 5e. Pretty sure they'd give anyone who asked some for free as well because when I had them install it to my PC, they noticed my Xbox was in my living room and installed another one from that Xbox up under the house into the router in the room my PC is in. I get good speeds that are actually above the speeds I pay for so if ya' need more 5e cables like this just let your internet provider know and they should come right over and provide whatever you need in however many rooms. Absolutely free too, I paid nothing. That was about a year ago and they even installed some battery pack for free as well. Not sure how it comes into play when the power is out but for some reason they installed it.

This cable is the new backbone for JANK (FAH). It doesn't feel too cheap, and it seems to be working well. Good thing too, I really needed a new cable for that system.

the aluminium part is important, i would rather pay a bit extra to be sure, since i run POE over my cables, i bought a clearence sale 100 meter drum of STP CAT6A Stranded cable (would have liked solid core)

 

it cost me the same as Cat5e because of the sale... i do however run 10gbit just as fine on the Cat5E from the previous owner in the wall as i run on the CAT6A.. but it is just nice to be sure when you are both using the setup for data and power.
