Hey all,

I'm considering a move from the ATX PC that I've got to a small form factor "console killer" PC.

I've got a 160mm RMx 750W that I'd like to keep as I trade out gear, which rules out the FD Node 202.

One option that is available is the Phantex Enthoo Evolv Shift X, which claims to be compatible with my PSU.

Anyone have any experience with this case? Any airflow issues?

Otherwise I suppose I could sell my RMx and purchase the Node 202 with the included PSU. (Not great, but not a firecracker lol.)

This case basically needs AIO's on both the CPU and GPU to not overheat during a stress test (assuming you're using highest end hardware)

It's hard to enter "console Killer" size territory with an ATX PSU, as your smallest options tend to be the Nano S, Core 500, Or a Elite 110 if you're using a short GPU. Would you be open to switching the PSU to an SFX to get into a Node 202 or RVZ01/02/03 style case, or are you set on keeping the PSU for now?

Thanks for the input! That's a lot to spend on a case with basically junk airflow lol.

If I could get a decent return on the PSU as a local cash sale, I'm certainly not opposed to a smaller one. I have been eyeballing the node 202 for quite a while.

With the price on the appropriately sized PSUs, would you consider the Integra M included on that model 202 worth having?

(Edit: as soon as I asked, I see the 202 is currently at $71. the PSU version is $144. So that's a no :P)

Yeah most SFX PSU's according to PCPP start at around $75 for the 450w units. I honestly believe you could get a decent price on the RMx though

@TVwazhere My real goal for the console killer is something I can mount on the wall. I like the Node 202's design a lot, but I'd have to rig my own mounting solution (which I could.)

I wish something like maybe the Lian Li PC-05 or 06 were reasonably affordable, but MAN those things are pricey. I think the 06S would honestly be the perfect answer for me. Especially since they manage to fit an optical drive, ATX PSU, and decent GPU clearance (though not as good as the 202 in that regard.)

Are you aware of anything in the realm of the PC-06(S or not) that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

If you're wallmounting it, maybe look at the Thermaltake Core P1 or the Core G3? They're not super small but the P1 very Show-Off and both would accept your current PSU.

The PC-O4 through O7's were very unique. I cant remember if I found a case that were "replacments" to that whole line, but I dont think so (I know for a fact I've looked in the past because this is not the first time someone has asked for an alternate.)

Lian Li is pretty pricey across the board, but MAN.

I have been eyeballing the Core series. I wish there was one in the mATX size range. They all appear to be pretty damn big.

They are very nice looking AND reasonably priced, though!

@TVwazhere I think I've just convinced myself on the Node 202 further.

I was looking around at some very neat looking cases like the Raijintek PAEAN M and OPHION, then drooling over the unfair reality that I can't just have a case from the Corsair One series.

It's been an emotional roller coaster to say the least :P

But really if I'm looking at open air wall mount cases, I feel like I have to pack them with cool looking RGB gear, since it's all visible. And I absolutely AM on a budget lol.

The Node 202 has many benefits. Small, good airflow, good GPU clearance, and I totally am going to find a way to hang it on the wall. (I'll find some little rubber feet as not to block the airflow on the side facing the wall.) Plus I can just grab good performance per dollar gear and not care what it looks like :D

Additional reality is that I'll probably have to order a boot kit, since the only X570 Mini ITX is $230 and doesn't include built in wifi. Looks like it will be the B450I Gaming Plus.

The things I do for... The desire to build a small PC to replace my consoles...
