So,

Im having issues with my ram on my new x570 Taichi, the ram is G.Skill Ripjaws V 3200CL14, some of the better ram for ryzen 3000, however, everytime i run a mem stress test whether it be memtest86, aida64 extreme, the pc either crashes, powers off or BSODs, even when playing csgo, my system will freeze and i need to restart to remove the freeze.

I have also ran windows memory testing and it detects hardware errors but if youve used it, you know its nothing specific about where and what the errors are,

Anybody have any ideas or should I just RMA my ram because it seems to be the main issue as any other set of ram works fine

Start with MemTest86+, it will pinpoint, or eliminate, your RAM, as a cause.

Are you running anything i the BIOS that isn't stock?

Just completed 7% of one pass and there was immediately multiple sets of errors in memtest86+, so maybe its safe to say ram is having some issues,

No, the bios is completely stock, only thing thats enabled is XMP

Turn off XMP, run it again. I've seen more issues with XMP, than it seems to solve.

If you still get errors, then yes, RAM is bad.

When I had to sticks in and restarted the PC I got a C5 boot loop and cleared cmos, still crashed but now i removed 1 stick and its stable now

A good start. Keep us updated.

As an aside, I've never liked G.Skill RAM, always felt they were flash over quality (my experience only, yours may differ)

Ive only ever bought corsair ram previously, with 0 issues, went the G.Skill for the sake of here in Australia when 3rd gen came out everyone bought the more expensive B-Die kits like tridentZ and I was just left with getting the Ripjaws V but from what I read up on before I bought it, it was supported on the QVL and seemed to work well for 3rd gen and was only 200 aud compared to 300+ for other kits

yeah if your motherboard doesnt like your ram your gonna have a fun time with timings and everything my motherboard doesnt like my ram so i had to play with shit loads of timings to get them to work properly

well it was on the QVL list for the Taichi so I would be annoyed if it wasnt faulty and the motherboard just didnt like the ram

honestly sounds like a set of doa sticks, try it one stick at a time to isolate the problem.

Im thinking it is, im only using 1 stick from the pack and its stable enough. Its just a pain RMA'ing back to Taiwan for like 50 bucks shipping and then spending another 50 getting a stick of ram so i can finish assignments over the 3 weeks it'll probably be gone

Well this seems to be the only thread addressing my problem. Same thing, bought 32GB 3200C14 Ripjaws V and paired it with my x570 Taichi. The XMP profile doesn't stick automatically. Manually selecting higher frequencies lets me use the tighter timings and go higher than 2133mhz, but it's unstable. 2933mhz seems to be the most I can go with stability with two sticks and 3133mhz is the fastest it will go before it won't boot and I have to start over. One stick works great at 3200mhz no issues.

I did a few rounds of memtest and it worked great, zero errors running both sticks and all it said was 3200mhz C14 like it was supposed to.

One wrench in the issue is that I'm currently running a 2700 in the system and according to the Taichi manual (not the clearest thing in the world) I think 2nd gen Ryzen in that motherboard only supports up to 2933mhz. I got the processor for cheap as a stopgap before I grab the 3900x or 3950x.

Nobody else seems to be having issues with this ram. Every single thread just says to load the xmp profile and party. It's been 6 years since I last built a computer so I'm pretty clueless on how to proceed.

Im not sure if it will work with lower timming kits but i have 16GB Rip Jaws V 3600 mhz kit 19cl that will only get to 3600 when on Bios 1.01 and with any other bios it will drop back down to 2133 (im not great at overclocking so i just used XMP) i did try the ram calculator but was unsure of some of the missing elements in my bios so i only tried it once so far after updating to the most recent Bios. I'm already planning on getting a different kit with tighter timings since this one was more of a less expensive place holder at the time of purchase

Taichi X570, R7 3700x

EDIT:

so i have bought another set of ram by the way i should note that neither 2 kits i got are on the ram QVL for the M/B my first kit is F4-3600C19D-16GVRB and the kit that i just bought is F4-3600C15D-16GTZ i have been able to get both of these kits to work with my Taichi X570 and run at 3600 mhz at nearly the correct timings (noticed the C15 is running 16-15-15-35 instead) it may be my board but figured id post the solution that i have come across to just flip on XMP and go.

first Bios HAS to be on 1.01 no newer bios have worked for me to date and next run your memory in slots A2 and B2. Then turn on XMP (and that's all i noticed im doing)

when i have the memory in slot A1 and B1 even with bios 1.01 these timings wont function (my computer will also reboot on its own as it attempts to run the set speeds) for these ram kits that i have noticed. also if you decide to updated the Bios with ram in A2&B2 and try to change the speed and timing it will just get hung up and be a pain in the arse to turn back on (found a trick for this too if it keeps getting hung up pull the ram and put at least one into A1 and reboot)

Edit: 6/15/20

I have been running my memory at 3600 mhz for months now on bios 2.5 my solution to this is use all 4 dimm slots I am using both kits mentioned above (yes i know stupid but I was not interested in buying another kit) what I did: I put my slower timing dimms in A2 and B2 and the faster ones in A1 and B1, the auto xmp tuned to the A&B2 dimms and everything functioned. its worked great for me so far have not tried it with any bios after 2.5 yet
