I would recommend the Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 because I love their UEFI UI interface. Very easy to use imo.

Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ ....

I picked up that board for my son for $129.99 + tax and shipping and there is the $10 rebate.  I purchased it at NCIX recently.  While I needed an upgrade for my son's pc I too like others am hoping that this will be able to use some future AMD cpus.  The motherboard looks really nice and it has SLI/Crossfire but I believe no Quad SLI/Crossfire capabilities but really nice for the price.  I would recommend it to others looking for an AM3+ motherboard.

If you like Asus boards then the M5A99 FX pro R2.0 is a real good board for the money, i have one and never a problem plus 990FX chipset means duel 16x pci-e

The new Sabertooth Gen 3 is just come out which is an awesome board but will cost a little more.

got to love Asus components

hows the Asus M5A97 R2

The main differences between this (970) vs the Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 (990FX) is their multi-graphics support. The 970 chipset can go up to 2 way crossfire while the 990FX chipset supports 4 way SLI/Crossfire.

This motherboard will handle your 4.0ghz overclock and you can use AI Suite 2 to automatically overclock your cpu but this software is buggy sometimes so use this software if you really don't want to manually overclock your cpu.

For sure get a 990FX board, there is a few from all the different manufactures, all depends on personnel preferance.

I have a Asus M5A99FX pro R2.0 its pretty good board, if you want better then the Sabertooth (gen 3) is recommended or look at the other manufactures.

got to love Asus components
