what ram and what GPU?  since ram prices went up idk, but you might want to save and grab a less expensive board, and maybe get better memory. but what GPU do you have?

for a 955 you don't reall need a 990fx board, I assume 8gb of ram, is this because your board died?  I mean if you don't mind the brown, sabertooth, http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX41356

but this gigabyte board looks good http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX33934

Since you want a board for Steamroller, maybe wait for the new round of motherboard (if they come out)

Otherwise, here are board I would recommend for AMD FX:

$100 - Asus M5A97 R2

$125 - AsRock 990FX Extreme3 AM3+

$150 - Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ (awesome value) or Asus M5A99FX Pro R2

$180+ - Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 AM3+, Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2, the highest MSi one

Best of the best: Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z

Intel Core i7-5820k @ 4,6Ghz; Asus X99 Deluxe; GSkill Ripjaws 4 (4x4) 2400Mhz; MSi GTX 980 Reference @ 1.4Ghz; CM V700; Phanteks Enthoo Luxe; Windows 8.1 Pro

I need to realise one of these days how popular the forum is,

anyway, you might want to wait for new boards, unless your board is dead, don't fix what aint broke.

the m5a97 le r2  was cheap and I needed a new board for my 955, and it holds it at 4ghz, but it wouldn't oc well with like an 8350

990FX usually come with better board, but it's the cooling, VRMs / component quality, that will get you higher overclock.

As far as board goes, 990FX board have 6+2 / 8+2 power phase (very good if you are stressing the power delivery of the MB).

My personnal favorite is the Gigabyte UD3 for the price, it seems a solid board.

it really comes down to features, and quality.

iof you're running an older chip, there really isn't any reason to buy an amazing board if you're not gonna upgrade you're CPU :P

Yes, if it's only for Steamroller, might as well wait for what will come next if your current board is fine  :)

I know this is a bad answer, but I'd say it's up to you  :P

There's likely to be a motherboard refresh around Steamroller, and, if SR is released and is not worth it at all, you might as well buy an Intel CPU + MB then.

Still, it's up to the manufacturer to release BIOS to support the new CPUs, so just hope that they will.

Otherwise, it seems to be a great board with plenty of features.
