Upgrading my GTX 1070 for RTX card worth it ?

Le0nPaul

I was thinking about graphics card upgrade for new upcoming games, as I have i7 6700k 4GHz , 16GB DDR4 2400MHz, MSI GTX 1070 ARMOR OC , 1920x1080 144Hz ( 2016 build ). As of now I can play every game on ultra settings but because of new upcoming titles which are super crazy, I am worried about my system. Should I upgrade my card ? or should I wait for RTX 3000 series ?

If I'm playing games on high setting with an I5-7400 and a GTX 970 then you should be fine for a long while, I think maybe years from now. Lol there are people still getting by on 7 year old hardware but, on lower graphical setting of course.

You will know in time when the performance does not meet your criteria, hopefully by then something way better will be out.?

What crazy games did you see with rtx? There is only watch dogs legion and cyberpunk 2077 next year. Am I missing something?

As for the gpu upgrade, wait for next years 7nm, the gtx 1070 is still very strong for 1080p.

Yea I know 1070 is very strong but after playing every games on ultra settings for 3 years I am having hard time even going on very high preset. Metro Exodus is the 1st game I had to play on high preset and below 70 fps kills me from inside for some reason. But I'll wait.
