2 Dimms vs 4. Does it make a difference?

I want to buy 16 GB of Partiot 3Viper 1866, should I buy 4x4 or 2x8? I will be using a Maximus VI Hero or Asus z87-pro

2 x 8, you have upgrade potential - unless 4 x 4 is significantly cheaper.

It's best to get 2x8.

That's what RMA's/warranties are for. Also, more sticks = higher chances of a failing stick.
