A question on Vega 56 and RX 5700XT relative value

I was on the brink of getting a 5700XT when I spotted a Vega that raised serious doubts. The thing is, I'm not one to go for very high end gaming, I usually lag a few years in terms of games I play, and I'm probably a few months away from getting a monitor and game that would really take advantage of either (I'm the kind of person who wants his 60Hz monitor to get constant 60FPS, not the highest possible - vsync is my friend ).

So, cutting to the point: I'm not entirely sure of the performance gap, but pricing is as follows:

 

RX 5700XT: EUR 419

Vega 56: EUR 267

 

RX 5700 and Vega 64 are out of the question due to being priced too similarly between them, and too close to the 5700 XT (in all cases I'm considering the cheapest I'm comfortable buying, which is usually the cheapest non-blower card, or 10-15 EUR above that).

The 5700XT is the faster card, and the faster you go, the steeper the premium, but is  EUR 150+ (56%) too steep? Is the performance difference anywhere near that large? I guess a different way of putting it would be: I can get the Vega for 64% the price; which fraction of the performance would I get on average?

If you're playing on a 1080p60 monitor, I'd just get the Vega56.

That's the card I'm currently planning to get for 2560x1080, 144hz.

In this case it is the ASRock Challenger and the Sapphire Pulse, respectively. But as I said,

Variations across brands/model isn't something I'll notice, at least not past blower vs axial fan.

 

In any case, I've thought it over and it clearly makes more sense for me to go with the EUR 270 card and maybe some years down the road buy a similarly priced card, most likely better than the 5700XT, than to spend big today so "I'm done for X years", since I would be paying for performance that I won't extract until said performance is much cheaper anyway.
