Windows temporarily switches focus to desktop

Alcarkse

I don't know how to diagnose this issue, so I'm asking for help here.

Here's my problem:

Windows looses focus of the current window (if it's a full screen program, it show the desktop). About 2 seconds later it brings the focus back on my program.

This switching happens twice (with a 5 second interval), every day at around the same time (i.e. 7-8pm).

Additional info:

I haven't found a way of manually triggering the issue.

It has happened regardless of the program that has the focus (firefox, photoshop, games, ms word, etc.).

When the switch happens, no other program seems to get the focus (as indicated in the taskbar), and I don't have time to open task manager to see what is causing it.

I've been playing Monster Hunter World lately and when the issue happens here, the game indicates a loss of connection to the internet, but the connection doesn't actually drop.

How do it diagnose an issue like this? I'd need more info to know which program is causing this but I don't know how to get that information.

Pretty confusing situation you got there.  I would personally run DDU "Display Driver Uninstaller" in safe mode if possible and do a clean and restart and back into normal mode if you didn't flash from safe mode its ok but best way to do it.  Anyhow run it then install the latest video drivers and tell us what happens.

Thanks for your help @Turtle Rig.

I've run DDU, and then installed the latest graphics drivers.

I just need to wait until this evening to see if this solved the issue.

The issue is still there, even after reinstalling graphics drivers...
