Hello, I am soon going to build my first pc, I would like to run any game at at least 60 fps (any settings, higher= better) and be able to livestream and do some small video editing on sony vegas, will a 500$ build be enough? If not, how much is the minimum I should save up for about? (I have an OS)

Edit: Would do video editing so I could upload the videos on youtube.

I would say you could probably make/build something for that price. But I would recommend that you save up a few hundred more for something more ballerz status.

500$ limits you quite a bit. I would say 800$ is the minimum for getting a pretty powerful build. The 200$ difference in price should give you a huge difference in performance. Then after that the law of diminishing returns starts kicking in.

Actually it seems 700$ is enough... (+ hard drive, but you probably have one laying around or you could just change the ssd for a hard drive if you're that tight on budget). I wouldn't go any lower on the GPU than a 7850 (260x is actually worse than a 7850). And I think it's worth paying an extra 15$ to get the Node 304 compared to the Elite 130. IMO this is an excellent really fast build for the price.

He said he just wants to edit out some videos for youtube. And even if you spend a 100$ more than the 700$ build I showed, you wouldn't really be able to get a much better gpu unless you go in the used market.. heck most 7850s out there cost more in the 190$ range...

cpu bottlenecking. And don't tell me mantle with alleviate that, for now it's still in beta and there's only one game that has it. 4570 has a pretty good price to performance ratio.

EVGA BStock 760 fits in at $249. It spanks the 7850 99% of the time.

Actually most 760's are ~$250. So I'd go that route.

My A10-5800K doesn't bottleneck me while streaming, my 7870 does though

Actually I found a 760 for 235$ with no MIR. Then again while it's true that the 760 will spank a 7850, i'm not sure if it spanks it enough to justify paying 100$ more when you're looking for a really budget conscious build.

If you live near a microcenter, $500 could do it. The 8320 is $99 and comes with a free mobo. Pair that with a $20 case, an old hdd, and a decent psu. Then add what ever graphics card you can afford.

can you specify which games you are playing because for example you could get 60 fps on high settings on something like tf2 with a cheaper PC but then you get 5 fps on something like bf4 on low

Have you considered buying second hand?

There are quite a few last-gen products on the second hand markets such as graphics cards and CPUs.

I would personally look for a 3570K or 2500K, pairing that with a decent Z77, Z68 or P67 motherboard and a GTX670 or GTX680. Add a cheap case, decent PSU and a hard drive or SSD you have lying around and you're off.

The 3570K and 2500K are almost just as fast as the 4670K. The GTX680 is the same as a GTX770, so you get ballin' performance for the price.

I think it would be.

The OP was asking if it would be enough, so he could probably spend a bit more.

A build that meets the bare minimum now will quickly be out paced, but if you spend a little more now, you can last longer.

When you're talking on average a 100% performance increase for only $90, it's hard to not suggest it as the route to go.

I'll be the first to admit the 760 is faster (it being identical to the 660 ti of course), but it's nowhere near 100% faster than the 7850 (results from anandtech) ...

nerf that powersupply seriously.

If I were you. I would buy a computer without a GPU (200$ less)

theres kool games you cna play on integrated ( even bf4, but yeah)

then complete your build with areal grpahic card.

so then you can play while waiting and have the same results ( this applies if you go for a cpu with iGPU)

Quote if interested. others will elaborate.

That'll get close. Any game, if you want to play any game on ultra/high you'll atleast want a gtx 760. That'll be more than 500. Maybe get a 6300 for the editing and livestreaming

People with 7850, 7870/270/270x's beg to differ.
