BF4 super low fps

ok so im the kind of guy that can play on the UNPLAYABLE but for something like bf4 the playable just got unplayable

i have a

7770 1gb OC both mem and gpu

q6600 oc > 3.1Ghz

ddr2 8gb

windows 8 64 bit

and now my problem im getting super bad drops in frame rate at MAXIMUM the most i get is 29fps when its quiet, usually at 10-18fps so i play and i get kills =D but it pretty taxing on my head

i have had this problem in old windows and new windows installs, new drivers, beta drivers, ect... i have also noticed that people with the worse GPUs and CPUs have been achieving better FPS than me so i would like to ask... why!!!!

i've had bf4 since november and i just havent played it because of its shitty performance on my system but the new drivers came out so i though hey maybe something got fixed

Maybe put your CPU and GPU at stock clock speed, maybe the problem is that it is unstable or something

I have a GTX 660 Ti and ever since the new BF4 patch, my framerate had been stuttering terribly. I normally get 60 solid on High, but after the patch, I was stuttering anywhere between 2-50FPS. My GPU usage was all over the place and my CPU usage was high and I didn't know what to do. I did new drivers and nothing worked. Then I realized in Task Manager that Windows Defender had started to run an Anti-malware program which was hogging about 40% of my CPU usage. I disabled it and now my game runs fine. You may wanna check if they same thing is happening to you, especially since you're running Windows 8, this could be the problem.

"Downgrade" the drivers to 13.14 i believe, and just play with DirectX.. Mantle isn't working good for me either

As retarded as it may seem, if you are not using SkyDrive in the Modern UI then uninstall it since it causes a fair bit of problems with BF4 and will reduce lag and random freezes. Also navigate to where your Battlefield 4 is installed then go to the folder called '__Installer' then 'directx' then 'redist' and instal DirectX using the 'DXSETUP.exe' which is in that folder. Lastly yet another retarded fix which works is to uninstall Mozzila Firefox since it somehow interferes with BF4. Also in terms of settings start from having everything on the lowest possible settings and vsync on (stabilizes the FPS and reduces spikes by a lot... at least in my case.)

I know that some of the things mentioned above sound like BS but trust me it worked for me today and now I get stable 60 with rare drops to 50 on medium settings (This is on the rig in my signature).

EDIT: 1,000th post wooow :) and should be helpful :P
