Getting a WiFi dongle to work in Linux Mint or Ubuntu

Well, it's simple.

Click the LM on the of the desktop for Linux Mint.

Put the mouse over administration.

On the right of the LM menu (start menu) double click driver manager. You will be prompted for your Mint password.

Driver Manager will update it's cache and give you a list of devices installed on your machine. My case a GTX 1050ti and a Netgear Inc. A6100 AC600 DB Wireless adapter.

Click on the open source or recommended driver. Apply Changes.

The PC will install the device and prompt for a Restart to finish.

After the PC restarts you can click on the network icon and sign in. You will probably need to get system permission to get to the point where you can sign in to your network using WiFi.

Now the dongle will work. The dongle won't auto install like Windows 10 will if connected to a network using wired. Also the PC must be connected wired to install the driver. This covers Linux Mint.

Probably should have put this in Guides & Tutorials. Walked in here thinking you're trying to get it working yourself.

Plug and go after driver installation. Metadata remembered by Linux.

Hope this helps people using Linux.
