Hi All! Recently, I just moved with my desktop. I put it in to the checked in baggage with protections. I open the suitcase today to check if it is ok. A few screws dropped out probably due to the vibrations along the trip and I put them back. When I connected to the power, the breath light on the motherboard started to work so I assume the PSU is ok. But when I try to turn it on, nothing happened and Then monitor shows no signals.

Troubleshoot steps taken:

  1. Short the pins on the MB, not working, so the power button and cables on the chassis are not the problem
  2. Shorten the PSU using a paperclip on the 24pin connector, PSU working, fans working, so PSU is not the problem
  3. Remove GPU (RTX 2080) and memory sticks, not working

PSU confirmed to work on both 110v 60Hz and 240v 50Hz

Can I draw the conclusion now that the MB is dead and need to be replaced?

Specifications:

MB: Asrock z390 itx phantom gaming

CPU: i7 8700k

RAM: Corsair Vengance 16gx2, 3200MHz

Any thoughts? Thank you!

Have you checked your 24-pin and 8-pin power connectors? I assume you did but it was never mentioned.

I had problem few years ago, after cleaning computer sometimes my PC wasn't booting up, just restarting or no signals on monitor. After lot of attempts I finally found cause: It were memory sticks (RAM). Took them out, cleaned them well with dry cloth and also cleaned their slots, put them back and it fixed issue.

Hi, Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried it, not working though.

The problem is, when I push the button or short the pins on the MB, nothing happened, fans wouldn't spin (cpu fans, chases fans and the psu fan) and the pc remains off.
