Possible to run Nvidia and AMD?

Maybe a stupid, but legitimate question. I have a 660 and I love it, but I was contemplating getting an amd card for mining purposes (litecoin). I thought, is it possible to make them run seperately? So I bring this question to you guys. I looked around and a lot of the other answers are confusing so is it possible?

I swear to god that the topic of that was "Do the forums look pink to you?" And yes, you can run a 660 ti, and an AMD card in the same system

I think so. Just only one can be used to drive a display.
