leaking custom loop

My cpu waterblock fitting is leaking from the thread end (not where the tude is inserted). Is this usually caused by untightened fittings into the waterblock? Should I drain the system and reinstall the fittings?

Could be a broken o-ring, cracked block or not being screwed in all the way

do you know any ways of draining a system without a drain valve?

Find the lowest point in the loop, lean it over a bowl and unscrew it

And after you drain, install a ball valve to your loop for future maintenance.
