Heyo.

Someone i know bought a pc, and bought 32 GB 3600 Mhz Ram. Now the question here is, are the timings that important?

One was CL16 16-16-36 and the other one CL16 19-19-39

Does it make that much of a difference to be worth the 140€ extra?

She plans on Streaming and Video editing with it, will that effect it in any kind of way?

CPU would be a 3900x if that matters, which i think.

No if you stick to them. the 16-16-16-36 kit tho should have much greater potential

No, its 2 Different Kits. Both 32 Gigs, 4 Sticks.

Just one kit has 16-16-16-36 the other 16-19-19-39

So she has a total of 64 GB?

Back on topic, typically, the lower the timings (latency) the better.

Price difference of 140 THAT small timing difference? No.

If you want to run both 16-16-16-36 and 16-19-19-39 sets together, you would want to use the lowest common multiple (e.g. higher latency settings of the two).

You would run them all at 16-19-19-39.

Which leads to MY question.

How is one kit 140 more??

That is like the price of an extra 16 GB DDR4 RAM kit.

No. Theres the choice between those 2.

Not both.

But i dont know the 19-19-39 timings cost 264€ and the 16-16-36 costs 394€

Both 32gb both 3600mhz

So its not worth for that price gap?

NO.

The pricing is messed up...is one kit on a special / clearance sale?

Where is your friend buying the RAM from?

There's got to be better prices / deals, or other available options.
