Corsair 1000D question

Reppin513

Hi! I have been picking up parts for a high end build lately and have a question about gpu clearance in the corsair 1000D.

Currently have:

MSI MEG x570 godlike

Qty 2 MSI 1080ti Lightning Z

1000w EVGA G2 Power Supply

Asus ROG 4 slot SLI HB bridge

Awaiting:

Ryzen 9 3950x

G skill trident z neo 3800 mhz cl14 4x8Gb (will decide closer to launch)

EK radiators fans etc. etc.

Anyway, I have been planning to SLI the lightning Zs for a long time now. The problem I came across in my last build was the graphics cards arrived a full 3 slots wide; I had not planned on the cards touching.

This time around I knew the godlike motherboard would have the proper spacing (1st and 3rd pcie slots).

What I am having trouble determining is if the corsair 1000D case has enough clearance below the bottom GPU to breathe properly.

I do not want to side or vertical mount these beautiful cards. I also am not going to liquid cool them.

Yes I'm aware this case is overkill to custom loop just the CPU, but it leaves me the flexibility later once intel enters the discreet GPU market and (maybe) I have enough incentive to upgrade. Plus I could custom loop a second smaller form factor if desired.

Thanks for reading this far.

Can someone intelligible address the concern I have? I am trying to order this case asap since the 3950x is dropping very soon.

Thanks to all and have a great weekend!

I have the Corsair Obsidian 750D Windforce Edition.

The 1000D is larger again i think and the 750D has plenty of room for 3 cards so the 1000D u shouldn't have a problem

Yes, should be fine. These should still be a PCI slot PLUS that extra motherboard IO cover worth of space until you hit the PSU cover. :) 3 slot cards are also generally quite capable coolers, so it should be fine. :)

PC SPECS: CPU: Intel Core i7 3770k @4.4GHz - Mobo: Asrock Extreme 4 (Z77) - GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 680 Twin Frozr 2GB - RAM: Crucial Ballistix 2x4GB (8GB) 1600MHz CL8 + 1x8GB - Storage: SSD: Sandisk Extreme II 120GB. HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB - PSU: be quiet! Pure Power L8 630W semi modular  - Case: Corsair Obsidian 450D  - OS: Windows 7

I replied too quickly. Thank you. I take that as one slot extra below the bottom card. Perfect.

Yes, I love these cards.

I just re-read that. You meant the i/o shield from an absent second motherboard. Even better.

My only other concern is the dimension left to right creeping in on the 320mm length. The case specs say 400mm max gpu length, but it isn't clear if that is a higher slot or not.

I'll probably risk it either way.

The GPU will stick out over that drive cage, no need to worry. :)

Now I can not seem to find any 1000Ds in stock anywhere. There is qty 1 on amazon for over 800 USD and the rest are third party resellers with terrible online reviews that probably haven't updated their website (some reviews claim they intentionally misrepresent items in stock to highjack the sale and make you wait forever).

So. Does anyone have a line on a new or very nearly new Corsair 1000D case? Please.
