Moumt Hyper 212 Black Edition on AM4 socket

Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

The page is either outdated or only refers to older coolers released before AM4 that have since had stock updated with AM4 mounts.

The Hyper 212 BE was released afterwards and has always supported AM4.

Hi all,

I believe that the Hyper 212 Balck edition is not compatible with the AM4 socket out of the box (see image), what do I need to do to be able to mount it?

Thanks,

That picture is outdated. Masterliquid series is now use ML name instead of spelling the whole thing out, so this page is old.

I read that for AM4, the hyper 212 forces you to mount with the fan pointing up which screws with air-flow. I'm not sure if this has been addressed or not

That limitation for mounting is only for a specific mounting kit. There's another kit that doesn't have this limitation.

It also usually doesn't make much of a difference to performance.
