New PC build not starting

So I've just put together a fresh PC for someone. I press power. LEDS on, hard drive, cpu and gpu start running but bios doesn't come up on screen and it restarts after a few seconds. No error beep from Mobo speaker.

CMOS battery is in and RAM is in firmly.

Any ideas?

If your motherboard has BIOS flashback, then you may be able to flash it without the CPU, RAM & GPU installed. I was able to update my B450 Tomahawk using a flash drive

If it doesn't, AMD can send out an older CPU to enable you to update the BIOS, then return it. Details can be found at: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100

Does your motherboard have onboard GRaphics?  Make sure you plug your monitor into the onboard HDMI/VGA/** connector, then start and look for post.

Try to re seat the RAM, disconnect the hard drive and boot, troubleshooting steps are your friend.  Double check all of your power connections are secure, 4/8PIN CPU Connector, motherboard connector, etc etc etc

 Motherboard does not have graphics.

We've tried reseating the RAM used 1 at a time, same with taking the SSD out.  4/8pin's are in correctly.

Hey!! I live in Mt.Lebanon. what's up neighbor! A little troubleshooting goes a long way, however this is what my mobos do whenever the bios needs updated.

Doesn't matter, your motherboard doesn't know what your CPU is yet.

Gotta follow above advice and update the BIOS.

Did you get it up and running? If you didn't, you may want to stop and see if anyone has an older Ryzen cpu for you to borrow for a few minutes to update your Bios. James300 said it earlier. Let AMD know and they will send a loaner out for you to help get your computer to post and get into the bios. I'm afraid there isn't anything you can do until you get a last generation Ryzen.

B350 does not support 3rd generation Ryzen CPUs. You need B450 or later.

Some B350 boards have an unstable beta BIOS available, but affronting that there's no other way it will work.

Sorry about my spelling sometimes. My $1200 laptop has a $2 keyboard.

https://www.tomshardware.com/news/amd-x570-chipset-first-gen-ryzen-support,39474.html

Unfortunately that article is a little old, newer BIOS revisions have allowed for full support of 3rd gen ryzen on B350

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.techspot.com/amp/review/1872-ryzen-9-on-older-motherboards/

Hell you can toss a 12 core in one, not that you should

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

you can run high core counts on a 320 chipset with the right bios flashed to it but without A LOT of air passing over the vrms i cant see them lasting long

if your a car guy imagine taking a 72 gto and fitting a small 1 litre ford eco engine into it yes it will move but you cant stretch its legs and eventually it will pack up
