Respect Photography, Treat as a Career, and an Art Not a Wanna Be

Hi, I am new to this so here goes, As a Photo Shooter for about 47 years, and my age is 63. As also have gone to Art College, and have travel to places like Japan, Denmark, France, UK, Belarus, Philippines. In which been using Film, and Digital but more shooting film, and scanning in which I see the photograph in grain than pixels. But after seeing Linus's video regarding Using Professional Cameras as TOYS, and not using the camera properly as for Brandon bragging about his Pixel Phone(Big Fucking Deal) as knowing that I did not know if Linus what he was holding a 10Grand FujiFilm medium format digital camera as his was waving, and holding it wrong in not viewing in a perspective view in taking a photo. The video was like watching Master bate Shooting because that is How I Seen The Video, Insulting, I rate this Video INSULTING-GOT THAT LINUS INSULTING. I did not spend my time in going to school to learn how to shoot an Apple(that was the 1st assignment at CCSF) I was given great knowledge, and respect to my teachers as continuing to obtain my degree. But when working in a camera store in SF, as seeing Photographers Wanna Be's that did not no where was the shutter, did not know on getting an assignment properly, insulting the camera staff at where I work in which 9 out 10 they broke it. And last that these new so call shooters are using a cell phone with all the Bells, and Whistles, and they listen to Ken Rockwell Bullshit(Does if ever you notice on his web site No Email to be sent to him Why?-Some people to not have Facebook or Twitter so how do we contact this so call shooter? He still claims that the letter "P" on the command dial on any camera means "Pro" No asshole it means Program. It is too bad that most of the photographers that I see got their knowledge in watching You Tube, and have not experienced in being accepted in what they do. LIFE Magazine is not hiring because they do not exist any more. National Geographic does not have staff photographers-Surely their is Magnum Photo agency-but you have to be on day by day shooting as Your on your own. As I have 47 years of Photography Knowledge, I have camera from to the Canon Rangefinders to Nikon SLR to DSLR. I have process my own film, both B/W, and Color both Neg, and Slide, Did Dye Transfer, Scanned my film, printed B/W, and Color, then inkjet printing as again my gear, Cameras, Computers, Scanners, Printers are Old, and again I not a bragger, Im a shooter as My gear dates is not new like some people would be breaking the bank as I seen of many persons that buy the latest gear, and then forking out money, and then a few weeks later that they would returned it reason: "Oh It;s to Heavy, Oh too many buttons, Oh did not knew about RAW, wasted a day's shoot, someone told me to shoot Jpeg Low Res..." I hate to say this Linus but I do not think that these are photographers, and you prove it, plus for the students that are going to class they are not learning. Not going galleries, and looking at photo essay books like: Avedon, Weston, Adams, Meiselas, Bresson, Capa, And the list is endless. And Linus as one shooter to a Gamer-Shame. That is right that is all you do play Games, While out in the photo field are shooting jobs, traveling all over the world doing street photography, journalist are wearing flak jackets to get that shot in battle fields in either South Philippines, Syria, even in Hong Kong, You know what is going on in Hong Kong right? Don't know then put the controller down, and turn on the TV, and watch BBC, NHK World, DW-TV, and France24 and see what is going on. Yea you insulted me, and if I were you I would Apologies, and either redo the video, as your web site is to review a product not treated as a toy. And Brandon, Do not care what you do Ok, and in last with all the new cameras both still, and motion picture that are coming out, that I gave salute to the shooters that I have seen, and study as one shooter Edward Steichen said this:  "No Photographer Is As Good As the Simplest Camera" And I do not mean Cell Phone.  So in ending that Linus think about in what I wrote, or I will continued to got on your You Tube page, and type this: "Linus still waiting for that Apology" In which that I have done so. And also to all shooters, I'm the same guy that gives the bad reviews on You tube on the subject of Photography, and Computers. Do not trat me as a Bully because it is making you a bully, I am shooter, and enjoyed it.

That was literally the point of the video, Linus has no clue about photography and they wanted to show that even with high end gear his pictures would suck.

 

Also please divide your posts into paragraphs, this is barely readable.

well, i do have to agree with @Sauron here... the video had a good point

 

and btw, we quote here, otherwise people don't get notifications

I am seeing more cell phones snaps all the time, can't call them photos because almost all of them are so bad they aren't even worth looking at or what I would call a photo.

 

One can do better with an entry level DSLR and kit lens with the camera set to AUTO and that is saying something.
