Fantastic PSU.

no its not.......

the focus line of PSUs has some annoying OCP related issues. as long as its bought before 2018 its only an annoying issue, and nothing serious.

Thanks for the info mate. Last time i ordered my parts from mindfactory or some other german site. The finnish site that I listed doesn't have the best prices but shipping/availability is good.

I had my CPU running at 4.2 Ghz at some point steadily like back in 2015. i did drop it down back to default though.

so, why recommend someone a CPU that is allready struggling in demanding titles?

the lack of HT has time and time again proven itself to be the downfall of CPUs in modern titles. it happened to the dualcores, it happened to the quadcores. and now its happening to the six-cores.

you can get along perfectly fine with a HT enabled quadcore, but not a quadcore with no HT.

you need high end cpu cooler as my suggest above. then overclock manualy.

find on google about manual overclock guide.

What CPU would you recommend in my budget?

hyper threading or simultanious multrithreading.

it allows a core to have 2 pipelines instead of 1. non-ht 6 cores simply dont have enough threads to deal with demanding titles.

Oh right yeah, that was it. What current Intel i5/i7 or AMD processors would you recommend in the region of 300-400e? I would really like to upgrade my CPU. I have noticed my current one struggling with certain titles on max.

you could get a 3700x around that price.

just drop the SSD i added in the partlist i made and upgrade the CPU.

Alright so what seems to be the most viable option now is:

Ryzen 3700x with the Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE ATX AM4 Motherboard mobo and Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory then pair that with the radeon RX 5700XT. Does the radeon rx 5700xt make a lot of noise/use power a lot?

as long as you stay way clear of the reference design that is not a concern.

the reference design is the blower design that everyone offers.

BTW, what is your opinion on stock CPU coolers that come with the CPU itself if no overclocking done.

they are perfectly fine. they are a tad noisy when under full load, but temps are fine.

you shouldnt be overclocking them anyways. enabling PBO gives you the most from the CPU, no overclocking needed.

if you want to overclock, then look at memmory overclocking.

Do you think the RX5700TX wouldnt have any problems fitting into my Fractal design define s case? I remember my current GTX980 being able to fit but the back end of it sits right on top of one of the heatsinks of the CPU.

its not a very large card. so there shouldnt be any issues.
