Upgrade to Pixel 3?

Hey y'all,

 

I've noticed that the Pixel 3 is now on for almost half off. $600 CAD (~$450 USD) and I'm considering upgrading. 

 

I'm currently running a Galaxy S6, and the battery is no longer lasting a whole work day (9-5) with light use. I work in the parks system so my phone is my lifeline. Do you think it's a worthy investment? 

 

I'm obviously going to be buying the phone outright and transferring my plan over.\

Any reason it has to be a high end device and not something more midrange with stellar battery life?

I dont really like the pixel 3 it looks and feels outdated how mutch would a Galaxy s10e cost u cause ur already having a samsung right now and the s10e is using a snapdragon 855 thats alot faster then a 845 alot better screen etc in germany the s10e is even cheaper then the pixel

Oh I was talking along the lines of a xaomi redmi note 7 or similar phones.

Had a Pixel 3 for a year now and it's a great phone with a small flaw, that being the battery life sucks when making calls.
 

The battery generally lasts a good while for web browsing, emailing and other light usage, listening to MP3s barely uses anything at all but if you make lots of calls you'll struggle to get through a full work day on a full charge.

 

Other than that though it's a great phone, camera is great, included headphones have a really rich sound and I really like Android Qs gesture controls. Also you can turn off the notch, it loses about a a centimeter off the top of the screen but honestly after a while you don't even notice it anymore.

The reason I was considering the Pixel family is because they have nice cameras, so when I take photos of wildlife I don't need to carry a DSLR.

Casting my vote for the 3a, it's a great all around phone. 3000mAH seems like crap on paper but I end the day with around 35-45%, and I do texting and calls and Netflix throughout the day. Not an Internet warrior by any means but it gets abused a fair amount. I prefer plastic because it's more robust and it's smaller for my little girl hands. Its processor isn't very power hungry and does every day tasks easily.

 

But if the 3 is anything like it's younger more attractive cousin, I say get it.
