Move GTA 5 to different drive

Hi guys

I want to move my GTA 5 install (I have the Rockstar version with the 7 discs) from my boot SSD to my big HDD

What would be the best way to do this?

Thanks for your advice :)

backup the save folder :

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\

Uninstall game, and reinstall in the new drive. If the save folder overwritten, just put back from the backup.

You could also move the game over after doing that backup and then verify game files to replace what got screwed up using that half-ass method.

I've done it in the past.  I can't remember all the steps so if your capable of figuring it out it's worth trying before simply doing a complete reinstall.  Google it too because that's where I got good info when I did it.

Oh, yeah then all my advice is useless.  I figured it would just add itself to Steam, but I guess not.

See if you get the options in Library pictured above after doing what that link instructs and then maybe you can use my method.

Will this work with Windows 10? I know all about GTA 5 but I don't know how to do it better. If you have already done this, please write how.

Please post your own thread rather than necro old one. Also provide more info. OPs questions is about non-Steam version of the game. Plus any advice given would be same for Win7/8/.1/10.
