Stress test for cpu

Hi guys I recently just did a new pc build and wanted to know what is the best stress testing software that you guys recommend.

Prime 95 and Aida64 for the CPU and memory. MSI Kombustor and Unegine Superposition for the GPU.

If I use prime 95 is there any settings to just be able to stress test cpu only

P95 is a CPU only test.

The one for Maximum Heat I believe it's the top one called FPU will stress test the CPU at 100% on all cores so that you can see how hot it will get under maximum load, make sure you have a temp monitoring software like HWMonitor open so you can monitor the usage and temps. Aida 64 is better for testing overclocks and such though.

They have a free trial on their website, if you mean like getting it for free permanently I have no clue.

i enjoy using Passmark as the results for each component it tests get compared to the exact components average for every test done by anyone , even down to the exact part numbers.

it's a good program to use to make sure your machine is performing on par with what each component should be running at.

I use Furmark, they have a CPU burn in as well as GPU.

CPU, Memory controller and Ram, but not GPU and not "whole system".  That's my point.

Ahh I haven't used prime95 to often but you'd think with the Blend Test saying (tests a bit of everything) and then Max Power consumption would be the whole system.

Nope.  The blend (all of the above) option is still only ram controller and CPU.  Furmark or something like that would be a GPU stress test.

In fact, you can run p95 from a terminal without even having a GUI up.  Its all CPU.

I know what furmark is, I just haven't used prime95 a lot. I mainly use Aida64 only time I use Prime95 is when I need to see if a CPU is thermal throttling.

I got ya, I just don't want the OP running P95 for an hour and wondering why his GPU is at 32 degrees....
