Planetside 2 Case Mod! (tr)

tyoung515
New to the forums and modding. So figured it was a good time to start! The case is a 4 year old antec 900v1. To today''s standards, poor cable management but good case other wise besides in side having no paint. So on to the mods!

The case torn down!

Base coat on the front, that is a self etching primer that I ended up liking the color of.

Cut behind the mobo, and by the power supply, also one above the 2 hole to the side, and the most of the hd bays!

Next up is finish the top and start on some "war scar" effects and weathering! Ordering a Msi 7950 next week as I need a new gpu badly

That's what I have gotten done in the last week, time to start ordering new pc parts to fill it! Black and red themed water cooling loop for a 7950 and the cpu with 240 and 120mm rad. Red led 120's in front and a 200 up top with some uv reactive paint on parts of the board! Will update thread as things come in!!!

What server are you on? I am on Helios.

Wow that looks really awesome. From the outside no one will be able to notice that this is even four years old, it looks brand new. I can't wait to see the war scar the weathering affects that you will be adding.

Asus Sabertooth Z77, Intel 3770K 4.6GHz @ 1.33V, EVGA GTX670, Corsair Vengeance 16GB RAM, and Corsair 800D

Matterson, I'm with validus gamers. I really want to do a bullet stuck in the plexi! The theme will really come together as i start getting new parts in. The idea is asus sabertooth (will weather and rust the armor), 3570k, msi 7950 (I want the black pcb and unlocked voltage control to take advantage of the water cooling but I'm up to other idea's), ram is in the air as ill prolly add weather effects and rusting to it, seasonic 750w psu along with an XSPC d5 water cooling kit and other goodies! Once done with this mod, Im going to buy a new case to play with or do a scratch build!

You should create a stencil of the logo of your favorite faction, and spray over it, and add some weathering effects.

Build: Fx-8120@4.1ghz,  Gtx770@1.0ghz,  16gb Patriot memory,  Cheap case from thermaltake

Got the rusting paint in yesterday, and I have the next 2 days off! The tr logo will go on the top where the 200mm fan is, and I'm having a few things air brushed on the other side..... debating a few things for the window.... maybe a hole dripping plasma from getting a blast from a magrider. Also looking at replacing the I/O panel to military switches.... 7950 will have to wait till friday to order.... kinda went out and bought a 20v impact and drill, and orbital sander...... LOL

More work is going on today! I also do car audio and have a few subwoofers to build today, but on to the computers! So I ended up ordering a 650 ti boost today.... Ya I know meh, but with the gtx 770 coming out in the next month with haswell also.... I've decided to wait for them to drop before I go and build a whole new pc. But work on the case shall continue!! Pics tonight!

Hell yeah, nice.  I know this would mean changing your chipset and possibly cpu brand, but you should get an Asus ROG mobo, would look so much better with the red/black theme!

Castle, That is the idea, I also will be going with asus card (I got a asus 650 ti boost with 2 gb, but again just so I can play a bit better for the next 2 months as the new stuff comes out). Talsyrius i didnt think about that but I could have quite a bit done by then and see if they will post it on twitter! Going to test if acid will eat the plexi (it wont eat plastic) to do some VS burn marks, and take some bb's and make it look like it got hit by a scat max! But i just got slammed with quite a bit of audio work for the next few weeks, plus working lol..... And getting a little time in to game!
