Which is what a 650w psu would be good for. Sustained loads of around 500-550 and short peaking at 600-650.

Higher efficiency would be better. 80+ gold 650w options are what you should be looking at.

Already got one and based on what you explained will be buying 850w in the future to be on safer side

If you can spend the cash I'd say 650w is ideal, but you know quality over wattage, I'd pick a high end 550W over a lower end 650W for sure.
