Please help me with my PCIe MOBO questions.

1)Do loose fitting wifi cards(my wifi card wiggles in the PCIe slot) connect to the internet but have unstable connection? Or would they not work at all so my ping spikes aren't related to the wiggle? Because I am connected to the internet but I get ping spikes. So if a loose fitting wifi card would not even power on then the ping spikes aren't related to the wiggle.
2)Do different motherboards keep better connections? I have the same wifi card as my friend but we have different motherboards and his ping stays constant while mine spikes.
Basically, I am asking these questions because my ping keeps spiking and idk if my motherboard is to blame since I have tried 4 other wifi cards.

WiFi is inconsistent due to a large number of reasons. The bandwidth can be saturated by other signals, physical interference is a factor, etc.

I work for tech support and one of my clients has an issue where WiFi will drop the moment someone in the house turns on the microwave.

To answer your question, where are your access point(s) located? The problem with WiFi is that it's just like real-estate. It's all about location, location, location. It's a broadcast medium so it will never be as consistent and reliable as a wired connection. If you're gaming, seriously look into a way to get your machine attached to your network via ethernet.

Lag spikes?  Have you actually checked your bufferbloat?

 

Go to www.dslreports.com/speedtest and run the test. If your bufferbloat results are worse rated than "A" you need to fix your connection or limit your speeds with NetLimiter.

That is probably an older microwave or a heavily used one. Either way, it needs to be replaced.

Cutting wifi off when it's turned on suggests that it's no longer preventing the microwaves from escaping the chassis.

What reaction would you get when the IT Help Desk guy tells as client to buy a new microwave? Guess we'll find out tomorrow.

The (pricier) alternative would be better networking devices that support dual-band wifi and playing with the settings.

But then the microwave would still leak, that's not good.

A tiny bit of wiggle isn't significant since it doesn't happen unless you wiggle the card.

If you can't find it in the router settings, it doesn't have it.

It's not the same, NAT boosting is just a different name for NAT acceleration
