PC build help

I'm relatively new to the PC world however, i'm looking to buy a PC within a budget of £500-£600 i'm not that knowledgeable on building a PC which is why I've been looking online on amazon and eBay searching for pre-built PC's.

Realistically I've been leaning to the Intel core i7 side a bit more than the others

If you could help me with some better deals please let me know, i have heard it is cheaper to build a PC so i am down to also give this a shot so if you can please help with a specifications on parts to buy?

-From UK

-System will be used to do mostly trading and i'd give gaming a shot on this (edited)

-I'll be running most likely a 1-2 monitor setup

-Do not need keyboard & mouse

600 pounds is nothing for a PC however I'll do my best to compose a list for you. Check back in about 1 hour or something.

That won't be enough for a i7 build, unless you cheap out on the rest of the parts.

What alternatives can I look at?

Also if i was to cheap out on other parts how much of the performance would really be affected?

Was quite hard but I made you a 700-800 pound build

here is my suggested build. This like the lowest of the low if I were to build it for myself. Anything crappier than this, would rather save up until I have more to spend or go with a AMD Ryzen.

I strongly suggest getting Ryzen 3XXX processors (Ryzen 3/Zen 2). They're literally as fast as i7s in most single-threaded applications (like gaming) and higher-core count parts like the 3950x demolish Intel's chips in multithreaded workloads (like Cinebench). They're also much more efficient and dirt-cheap for the performance

I've been looking at the AMD Ryzen processors and they're a lot cheaper (unsure on how powerful they were) but I've been used to Intel nearly my whole life thats why i was unsure on the AMD CPU side so I'd also be down to look at AMD CPU's

I've found some:

This seems promising just unsure on this message

  • Warning! Some AMD X370 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Pinnacle Ridge CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.
  • Note:The motherboard M.2 slot #2 shares bandwidth with a SATA 6.0 Gb/s port. When the M.2 slot is populated, one SATA 6.0 Gb/s port is disabled.
  • Note:Some physical dimension restrictions cannot (yet) be automatically checked, such as cpu cooler / RAM clearance with modules using tall heat spreaders.

As listed above, we are using an nvme drive. If the m.2 slot is populated, then one sata port is disabled. No big deal in that.

Also, that Mobo, ram and cooler fit in that case easily. I have made many builds in that case. PC part picker gives that message most of the times when it is unable to verify whether it fits or not.

Current 8700 is overpriced. No point in going with it.

Ryzen is a better option. Also what will you be doing with this PC? You'll need a graphics card if you are planning to use it for gaming.

Traditional 7200rpm drives are slower and perform nowhere near to the ssds. Ssds are more than 10 times faster than hard drives. I'll recommend to get a ssd instead.

I'll make a list again.

I'll be using it to do trading mostly and if I've got the spare time i'll do some gaming on it hence the reason on why i didn't opt for a GPU (i understand seems abit stupid) however, i am probably going to go for the build you have sent most likely, just leaving some open options on my plate now if i can find anything better, or if anyone else can.

This one doesn't have any compatibility issues. B450 boards support zen+ CPUs out of the box .

Thanks! Appreciated the help but i'm on a tight budget

If your on this type of a budget, I'd suggest saving up a little more because if you just flat out buy a build now your gonna have a hard time getting parts, etc.. Your budget is super cheap if that counts for not only your build but also your setup then that is way too little for it all. Even for just a build, not good amount for what you want.

I Also gave it a shot of building a PC and came with this

-In the future i'll get a GPU or ill get a cheap GPU for the time being and then upgrade in the future?

I'm just curious what you think the 8700 is offering you on this build, especially with a junk MOBO, insufficient RAM, no SSD...

For multi core performance, SMT beats out Hyperthreading in performance and efficiency, so the R7 2700 makes so much more sense if you need those 16 threads for workload processing. The 8700's locked multiplier is a ding to longevity as well.

Further just a 12 threaded R5 3600 computes just as well, if not better due to higher core efficiency and computes per clock.

R7 2700 should be better in this case.
