And may I assume you're using US Dollars?

$500 in Australia is vastly different from $500 in the U.S xD

This one is fairly similar as to _Syn_'s one above, there's a couple sacrifices you may need to make due to your price limit! maybe swapping out the Processor for a beefier one and getting rid of the Integrated Graphics might help you!

Here's something that would be within the 500$ budget (after the mail in rebates) ;

Makes no sense going with 2200g (because it's cheap) because you're limiting yourself to 4 cores and not using the integrated graphics and limiting yourself to 8 pci-e lanes for the video card slot. 1600 is cheap and gives you 6 cores/12 threads and you have dedicated video card.

The MB may not be the cheapest but it has an acceptable VRM (dc-dc converter powering the cpu), heatsinks and also 4 memory slots which allows you to buy 2 sticks now and maybe add 2 sticks later if you feel you need more ram. It has bios updates to support Ryzen 3xxx series for more performance.

The SSD is less known but it's a nvme drive, giving you higher performance than SATA SSDs and 500 GB would be enough for start, even to install let's say 5-10 games besides the operating system. For around 20-30$ more, you could bump it up to 1 TB, but you could always add a 1-2 TB mechanical drive later for around 50-60 dollars.

The RX 570 4 GB is perfectly adequate for 1080p 60fps gaming at high-ultra image quality settings. If you want you can spend ~30$ more for a RX 580 8 GB model.

The case choice is subjective... i selected that one because it's one of the cheapest which has the psu mounted on the bottom and has nice trays for 2.5" and 3.25" drives inside. Also, I have a thing for black.

The system overall won't consume more than 250w when gaming, so a 500w or 550w power supply would be more than enough. The seasonic s12iii is not a "great" model but it's a newer design than CXM (2015) and on par or slightly better than CX (2017) recommended above and has 5 years warranty so you can be comfortable it's not a shit psu.

Solid idea. @Herman Mcpootis's build demonstrates that the cost difference in grabbing a 1600 would allow you 16GB of RAM.

That's likely the way to go.

It's actually not that similar.

The 2200G is a significant step down from the 1600/2600, and the 2GB 1050 has trash texture rendering capability vs the RX 570.

I'm also unsure why you would need to spend $30 on a Pure Rock Slim for a 2200G...

This is a far inferior build for budget gaming.

Also don't humor the builds that tell you to get a single RAM stick and grab another later.

You'll suffer hard until you do, and it's not guaranteed to match once you do.

And just to add a note: buying a used GPU could be very beneficial.

I recommend looking at an RX 580 (8GB if you can find one.)

Here's a listing for one at about the price of a new RX 570 4GB

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Asus-Radeon-RX-580-8GB-Dual-GPU-Graphics-Card-AMD/153480060877?hash=item23bc1fdfcd:g:HLEAAOSwA8Zc0mUB

(I'd avoid the ARMOR or PowerColor RedDragon models that a lot of people are selling if you can. The cooling unit sucks.)

Single ram stick with a rx580.

right... But just buying a used RX 580 and a 1600 could afford you an actual matching kit...

I'll disagree with you on buying a rx570 for fitting in 16gb of ram.

Ram is an easy upgrade. Just buy a matching stick and pop in.

Whereas the rx570 will show its age in some demanding games and will be a more difficult upgrade. So, usually factor in a better gpu.

Also, I am talking about getting brand new parts. Rx580s can be had for around $100 on eBay. Got mine for $75.

I'm... Not talking about pairing an RX570 with 16GB. Perhaps you could read before you respond?
