Radeon RX 5700 or 1070 ti

I am looking to start a new build for myself and was wondering if the 1070 ti was worth the $100 or so extra over the Radeon RX 5700. 

As of right now it looks like I will be making the switch to ryzen and going with the Ryzen 7 2700x with the AsRock Fatal1ty x370 board.

Also to note A big reason I am wanting to build a new pc is I want to record my gameplay so that I go back and review my mistakes.

If any additional info is needed please let me know.

No.  5700 a much better purchase.  Cheaper and arguably better.

 

 

That is the first time I have heard anyone building a new PC for that reason.  Interesting.

Not at all. IIRC the 5700 beats/competes with the 1080 and 2070, depending on the games.

Thanks for the replies and the info. Games I play and plan on recording are Rust, R6 siege and Battlefield genre of games.

the 1070 is good, but is old hardware now, nvidia already replaced it with many gpus

 

i would go with the 5700 but not with the reference model, is very pretty, but i would go with a sapphire model, wait a couple weeks to see what is offered

I hope you meant blows away the 1070, right now it sounds like the title of a video on a certain hub.

i think you should go for the 5700, or if you can put a  little extra the 5700 XT, but just wait for the better models to come cause i got the reference XT and its having massive heat issues while under big load, and well i'll be watercooling it soon but yeh

I am currently using a 1070 TI and it's working wonders, but since its an old architecture, I would recommend a RX5700 (if you could sqeeze in ~50$ extra get the XT).
BUT wait like another 1-2 moths untill the AIBs do their own coolers, because the AMD ones are, with best regards, pretty garbage.
