as the title says I'm looking for a wifi card in the sub $50 range for gaming and 1080p youtube I'm gonna be using this in my basement about 40ft away with my router on the main floor. for reference my iPhone 6s can get about 55 on the download and 9 on the upload in the same area.

 

and I cant have ethernet wired down there or use a powerline

+1. I have that card, and it works just fine.

 

A few minutes and some black paint for that bare-metal PCIe bracket wouldn't hurt, IMO.

Screwdriver specs: Long, pointy. Turns things. Some kind of metal.
