SOLVED: High pitch screeching noise then switched off (new build)

Go to solution Solved by The Old Myron Siren,

I would definitely check to see what happens when you swap power supplies. Also, do you have any idea where the sound originated from? Could it possibly have been the motherboard speaker beeping and not a screech? I'm not a total expert when it comes to things like this so take it with a grain of salt.

System

Ryzen 5 2600

Asrock B450 steel legend

1050 ti cerberus

16GB vengeance lp 3000mhz

Intel 512GB m.2 nvme

Silverstone Tundra 240mm aio

Xfx ts 430w psu

4x deepcool rf120 rgb fans

(psu and gpu not new parts)

Posted first time. Installed Windows 10 Pro. While downloading nvidia drivers it started to make a high pitch screech then shut down, no warning. Wouldn't power back on.

Thinking psu, although 430w should have been ok.

I also have a corsair cx 550 which I will try.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Definitely a screech. I'll give the psu a try tomorrow.

Cpu change worked.

Sad to see the Xfx go.

Good to hear everything's sorted out, hopefully the CX 500 serves you just as well as the XFX did!
