Power Supply Help

Electronics_Lab

Hey all,

I "upgraded" my rig to the max my bank account would let me but now I'm having to run my game drive off of and external PSU cause otherwise there isn't enough power.

My PC, according to PC parts picker is around 200W average but my 600W PSU wont cant supply enough power for my rig.

PC Parts Picker:

Does anyone know why my power supply is doing this

EDIT: The PSU in question is an AeroCool ACP-I600HG

Impossible to both, power supplies don't work like that. Unless the PSU literally shuts down or explodes when you try to run it with the drive attached.

You're asking us a question about your power supply, without telling what power supply you have - that's the main problem at hand.

Aerocool Integrator is a garbage PSU, that's true. Why exactly do you think it can't supply enough power, or that you have to run a hard drive off a separate power supply? What happens? You haven't actually told us anything about how your problems manifest.

On boot, i can hear the drives trying but failing to start. It doesn't even get to the loading screen, doesn't say there isn't an OS just sits with a blinking cursor.
