Hi, so my girlfriend is studying architecture. She always tell me that the computer she bought is to slow and take too long making renders. She use Sketchup, Vray for Sketchup, Autocad, Revit, photoshop and illustrator. The thing is that here budget is $1800 USD. I found this build in https://www.logicalincrements.com/articles/building-pc-3d-rendering-animation, but im not sure if is going to work well enough too justify the price.

that is not bad, but this is what i got with the exact parts for 1800USD. If you could stretch the budget I would recommend an R9 3900x upgrade.

I'd cut cost on the PSU (550w is enough) for some extra case fans.

  • For $1800 you can grab the R9 which dominates in pretty much all workload computing currently.
  • No compromises on MOBO, Cooler, PSU, etc.
  • 3600mhz RAM at a pretty good price. I wish the CL was a tad lower, but she could always tinker in OCing to achieve a lower CL or higher clock.
  • 660p isn't quite on par with an Evo Plus, but it's a damn solid NVMe. If you stepped up to a 1TB it would only put you like $30 over. Might be a good idea based on the creative nature of her work.
  • I added 2 additional fans for the intake in the case. It's the same model as the two included with the Meshify C.
