So basically my friend wants a PC for school work and light gaming but in a few months he will be getting a bit more money and then wants to start streaming. So my idea was to have a weird build that he could just open up, drop in a 3600x and a 5700xt and not have to worry about anything except cooling (which he is considering getting something like the dark rock pro when he has the money). Anyway this was the build i threw together and was wondering if it is decent, i build it while keeping in mind he dosn't want to spend to much money on the main components (CPU and GPU) which would just go to waste when he gets the better parts. Here is what i have come up with -

There is a weird thing with the memory, but he wants to get everything from amazon (since he has prime,it has decent return policy, ect) and it just didn't work so i entered my own price (the exact price from amazon at the time).

Thank you for reading this.

Why the x570 ??  Will he need PCie 4.0?  You can save money with a x470

To be honest i thought the same but he really wants it to be future-proof and fully upgradeable for a while and he is also quite inpatient, hence the m.2 which will just be his boot drive untill he can get a reasonably priced gen 4 m.2

????? With a X470 he is good for quite a few years... he just needs to update the bios and he will get all he needs to run the latest Zen 3

Regarding the M.2 gen 4 compatibility :

I think that says it all... ?

Frankly save the money on the mobo and get a better PSU or a better monitor.

I do totally agree with you but he has his mind made up and he dosn't really want to buy ''previous gen hardware to use with current gen hardware'' are his exact words. Anyway the main reason i started this form is really to ask if the 200ge will be fine with the steel legend, no one has mentioned it so i assume it does.

Well... you said yourself that the CPU is going to be replaced very soon. You get what you pay. It fits an AM4 socket, the mobo is a AM4 socket. Don't expect too much out of it.

If you put a Ford T engine inside a Porsche, It won't run as a Porsche but as a Ford T. ?

Future-proof is a fools concept. By the time a main component *needs* to be updated to keep up with workload, the entire platform would be completely outdated.

Yes i know what you mean but up until about January he will only be using it for things like microsoft office, youtube and some VERY light gaming, things like Rocket League, minecraft, escapists, ect all at low settings.
