Having trouble with a cable

I am building my pc right now and I noticed that my mobo (a320m-k) has a 4 pin cpu connector. 

The power supply is an EVGA 500w 80 plus white, and the cable labeled  "CPU" has 8 pins. What should I do?

PSU's have the 8 pin option to cover those who need it. Just plug in the single 4 pin and you're good to go.

If memory serves that 8 pin should break apart into 2 4 pins plugs, for backward comparability. One of the two sides will fit into the motherboard connection. It is Keyed so you can't plug it in wrong. Fastest way is to look at the little clip on the plug and match it with catch on the motherboard connection.

That's correct. Plug the segment that easily goes inside the connector. The 8 pin is designed like that, to split into 2 4 pin plugs.
