PSU's have the 8 pin option to cover those who need it. Just plug in the single 4 pin and you're good to go.

If memory serves that 8 pin should break apart into 2 4 pins plugs, for backward comparability. One of the two sides will fit into the motherboard connection. It is Keyed so you can't plug it in wrong. Fastest way is to look at the little clip on the plug and match it with catch on the motherboard connection.
