Connecting RGB Strip

Does it matter which end of the strip I attach to my motherboard, because I've got a strip with one end being male and the other female, and I can get an extension with one end being male and the other female, so I was wondering if I could connect this to the motherboard isntead of the strip, thank you.

well, the on on the motherboard is male, so i would plug the female one, just based on logic, dont have more info on voltages or if it needs one side or the other
