THX!

I am planning on powering a R5 3600 on a MSI b450 TOMAHAWK with the RADEON rx 5700 or the 5700xt (Depends on if I can squeeze it in my budget).

Also, Do you thing I should go for the 5700 and a better power supply or take the Corsair CX 550W with the 5700xt?

Reserve around 200-220w for a 5700XT (incl. oc)

3600 and the rest, maybe 150w..

So you need something with at least 400w on 12v

Wouldn't use a CX 550 for such build though. I'd try at least a Corsair Vengeance Silver efficiency, if a gold eff. is outside your budget.

That was my previous choice.

But the price got bumped up a bit so I switched to the CX (2017) 550W thanks to this post ??

Well it will suffice and yes you can go with the CX550 alongside the 5700XT but I'd personally save up to afford both the 5700XT and the Rosewill Photon if I were in your shoes, since you'll get full modular design and 80+ Gold efficiency from it.

However in the terms of build quality and reliability/safety both PSU aren't much afar. Wattage wise 550W is by all means sufficient.

What about the Semi-modular 80+ silver??

(about cx) It would work but it's not a psu that i would trust to last for more than 3-5 years.

For a few dollars more you could get psus with 7-10 years warranty and higher efficiency so you also save a dollar or two on your bill every month.

I'd rather get a psu that i'd be comfortable reusing in next build 3-5 years from now but maybe it's just me.

what link do you want

if you want really cheap seasonic s12iii 500w is $40: Seasonic S12III 500 SSR-500GB3 500W 80+ Bronze Power Supply, ATX12V & EPS12V, Direct Output, Smart & Silent Fan Control, 5 yr Warranty

5y warranty, good brand, new model of psu, good fan etc

nothing else worth looking at on newegg except corsair cx and cx-m in the bronze efficiency dept.

but i already explained my thinking when it comes to psu... pay a bit more to last twice as long

Not many 80+ Silver power supplies out there. Usually either bronze for budget stuff or anything higher end would aim for 80+ Gold.

Are you referring to the Corsair Vengeance 80+ Silver that was previously suggested? That PSU is pretty decent and would be suitable for what you're doing. Depending on where you are you may or may not be able to find it for $60 though. From what I've heard it didn't sell as well as what Corsair was expecting it would and they're discounting it pretty heavily, so if you're lucky you might be able to find one on sale.

Where are you? Do you have a link to local PC part stores. Might be easier if we look at what is available and just tell you which are the best within your budget.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

Everything here is in hebrew so you I don't think you'll be able to understand the local sellers?

I am usually buying from amazon.com cuz almost everything is eligible for shipping to israel and is still cheaper then newegg.com (including shipping).

(Newegg shipping is just ridiculously expensive).

Thx for the discount advice!

I will put my eye on that.
