Mechanical keyboard for Mac?

I'm looking for the cheapest mechanical that is compatibel with Mac.

I want something with Cherry MX Browns.

You can buy cherry mx keycaps. Just pick up a ducky or something and buy some keycaps from the amazon closest to you.

Get a costom KB that you like and get the appropriate keycap-set for mac

Mac compatible won't be the exact same as Mac specific keyboards.  For example, you won't have the screen brightness keys, dedicated "eject" key, etc., that are on authentic Mac keyboards.  

 

The Mac "clover" label won't be there either, unless you replace the window keycap with a custom clover keycap; or a custom WASD keyboard with the clover icon.

 

But other than that, pretty much any mechanical keyboard should work with the Mac.  Although some are not tested to work with a Mac, or have "limited" Mac compatibility.... so take that into consideration.  Some "PC" mechanical keyboards require bios dip switches just to work with some BIOS PCs, because of the nkey feature making the keyboard not recognized by the bios.   You wouldn't want something like that to happen with your Mac (I know Macs don't have bios, but you get my meaning).   For example, keycool keyboards are listed as having "limited" compatibility with Macs and Linux.  Not sure what that means exactly, but probably means media keys won't work in OS X.  You probably would not want a keycool keyboard for a Mac for that reason.

 

So, I would look for an inexpensive mechanical keyboards that specifically says it is fully compatibility with OS X.  Meaning, the media keys will still work in OS X.  Then if you want the "clover" icon, you can find custom keycaps online or buy the WASD custom keyboard with the clover keycap instead of the windows icon.  But I don't think WASD are backlit, if you care about that.  And it is not cheap/inexpensive.
