The computer I have is getting really outdated and only runs in safe mode, so after some convincing my dad isn't going to buy a PC, I'm getting $600 to build one. Here's what I've come up with but I just wanted to check with the pros to see if anythings wrong or could be better before ordering the parts

Computer's just gonna be used for web surfing and maybe some movies, but I put in the 270x (overkill I know) for some gaming potential. My dad doesn't mind as long as it gets the job done. We're running 1 monitor at 1280x1024 so frame rates shouldn't be too much of a problem. All I play are games like Skyrim, Occasional Minecraft, and some BF4. We already have the keyboard and mouse.

Some details/questions:

I'm taking out our hard drive so windows 7 is not needed as well as a HDD

I put in the SSD in the hopes that I can transfer the data on our current drive to it for the fast boot times (that's possible right?), Currently have 49 gigs used so 60 is all that's needed.

I don't know if I need a wired network adapter or anything else except maybe thermal paste.

Everything's being shipped to the US

Imediatally upgrade to 1080P for the sake of god. Here's pretty much the only monitor i reccomend for the awesome price these days :

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AZMLIDQ/?tag=pcpapi-20

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009483&clickid=z%3ArU7pWW3WLc0SBQuAQmF3PjUkT3b7xE-WXXXw0&iradid=97618&ircid=2106&irpid=79301&nm_mc=AFC-IR&cm_mmc=AFC-IR-_-na-_-na-_-na

As far as the build goes , Nice build but i would change the case for an NZXT H230 or NZXT 210 Elite

Other than that pretty nice , maybe change 270X with 270 to safe some cost , the performance hit is next to zero honestly.

So It is possible to transfer the data on the HDD to the SSD? just making sure, the PC I'm on now has super slow start up times and the SSD boot times would be amazing.

Thanks for all the answers guys, plenty of things have been changed. That monitor looks awesome too.

You could but honestly I'd just do a fresh install. Especially if it's only 49gb, as that isn't a whole lot to reinstall.

Tried to find the disk, but I think my parent's threw it away :(. That came to my mind, but I'm going to have to do it the other way. Shouldn't be too much of a problem
