Dead LAN Port on my motherboard

xpig380

Hi

These are my current specs:

AMD Ryzen 7 2700x

MSI B450 Tomahawk

HyperX Predator 3000mhz DDR4 (2x4gb)

MSI GTX 960 4GB

Corsair CX750M

Samsung 970 Evo 250gb

A 1TB HDD from samsung

This issue started when I received a faulty Vega 56 last week and I was uninstalling its drivers because I wanted to return it to the seller. When I was done and reinstalled my old GPU (a GTX 960 I'm using it right now)I noticed Windows wasn't detecting my ethernet cable,so I uninstalled the adapter in device manager to see if that was the problem but since then I can't bring it back. I did a clean reinstall of Windows but that didn't work, unplugged my RAM,resetted CMOS,disabled and re-enabled the LAN Port option in the BIOS. Fun thing is that I managed to install the Realtek drivers but it still doesn't show up not even in Hidden Devices. I think that for some reason the LAN Port died.

If it can't detect any cable in any way, then pretty much yea it's dead. But try reinstalling or updating the drivers just to make sure.

Well either way, you can always buy an external LAN network or a wifi adapter.
