Bluetooth on aircraft.

epikgamerwmp

I am trying to find out if you can use bluetooth headphones when on an aircraft but there is a lot of conflicting information available online.

What are these for?

what I am thinking is that there is a reason why airplane mode on your phone disables all radio usage, including bluetooth. Just use wired ones and avoid all that unnecessary risk and attraction.

Technically, no.

In reality? I use Bluetooth headphones and a Bluetooth mouse on airplanes all the time, and I have yet to die in a fiery crash. Even cell data isn't going to kill anyone. When I was flying home right before a hurricane hit here, I was on a plane with about 75 other people. Once we got below 5,000-ish feet, roughly 70 cell phones dinged an alert notification for the hurricane warning, and you're never going to convince me that 70 people sprang for the Wifi on a 40-minute flight. If any of that stuff was actually dangerous, airlines would take your phone from you when you boarded.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

I just flew back and forth and both times used my Bluetooth headphones the entire time without any issues or complaints. If you want to be safe I'd just ask your flight attendant.

Flew from NY to Glasgow, Scotland (and back to NY) last year, and also flew from Glasgow to London (and back) and was on 8 different planes, and I think 4 different airlines. Used my Bluetooth Bose QCII on every flight and never had an issue.
