For some reason when I saw it at home, I didn't like it as much and to me it felt overrated by the reviews. Don't get me wrong it was okay and maybe I had high expectations from what people said. But to me it was probably one of those movies you'd only enjoy if you're watching it on the IMAX big screen or something.

I didn't see it in IMAX, but 3D was gorgeous, and the really loud sound just consumes you.

Yeah, thought so. People seem to like it when they watch it on 3D or IMAX. In 2D you can see scenes clearly designed for 3D. A shame I didn't go see it on on the big screen when I had the chance. :[

Ok, fine. But it's still interesting that people feel the need to talk about things like that, when most space movies are passed off as fluff.

Ps the portion with the two of them being pulled away from the ropes- they were still declining in energy, and when she tried to pull Kowalski back, she slipped foreword; she couldn't have done it without being pulled away.

I don't think so. He said (and I quote): "Nearly all satellites orbit Earth west to east yet all satellite debris portrayed orbited east to west"

Another: "Satellite communications were disrupted at 230 mi up, but communications satellites orbit 100x higher"

Again: "Why Bullock's gravity, in otherwise convincing zero-G scenes, did not float freely on her head"

AGAIN: "How Hubble (350mi up) ISS (230mi up) & a Chinese Space Station are all in sight lines of one another"

He did end his rant with "I enjoyed it". I don't think I would enjoy it very much

The satellites were DESTROYED BY DEBRIS. So no communications that way. The satellite paths, yes.

I'm pretty sure they weren't; I remember her trying to pull back, and her foot slipping more; they would've had to wait like 5 minutes before she could have pulled him back safely, and by that time the ropes would have come loose and they would drift.

It that's what would happen in real life, then it's a movie inaccuracy; but in the movie, they were clearly still being pulled by kinetic energy.

I thought it was good, I accept that it might not be fully accurate, but I liked the whole concept of the story.

It did kind of remind me of Moon (2009) and also Sunshine (2007), mostly down to the audio, the silence makes it really immersive for some reason.

So, good sir, what are your opinions? I feel it (wait for it) can drag me down at times.

I am rather pro gravity, it would be rather hard to drink this tea without it.

tea>everything

True, but then again we could fly without it... everyone could be an astronaut!

if the earth had no gravity we would also have no atmosphere which would be quite inconvenient.

It is a rather established drink for British dolphins

Well, what can you do; you get to fly, you give up atmosphere! What do we need oxygen for? Psssshhhh! Preppy British, always worried about stupid stuff like that...
