Could this cause damage?

I am planning on getting my ASUS DirectCU II Radeon HD 7790 (FINALLY!!!) and a Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB SSD. Right now, it's really cold where I am (about -10C most of the time). Would either of them be damaged if I got them, but let them warm up slowly without taking them out of the packaging?

I might throw my Radeon HD 6570 in the snow. Maybe that will fix it's overheating problem.

Cold is good ;D. Shouldnt be more than -100 though, you`d get booting problems but thats fixable aswell.

I would just take them out of the package and leave them on a static free place for maybe 12 hours to warm it up and remove condensation before putting it into your computer.
