Mining Rig LTC, I Have Enough Power??

Hi guys, i'm going to build a new mining LTC pc, here they are the specs. The only concern i have is the power consumption, in paper with 1700w is more than enough, because every gpu pull 150-180 of energy(900w-1080w all the gpu's), plus the motherboard, cpu, ram(100w-150w) is equal to 1000w-1230w, but i keep hearing that i need atleast another 850w psu, what do you think of that? and is there any suggestion for the pc?

  • Motherboard: MSI Z87-G55 (i know that Asrock has made one perfect for mining but right now i can't find one below the 150$ and this motherboard have 7 PCI-e for 135$)
  • CPU: Intel Pentium Processor G3220 3.0 GHz  68$
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance 4GB 1600mhz 47$
  • GPU's: 6x Asus R9 270 DC2OC 2GB 200$ x6 =1200$
  • PSU: 2x Corsair RM850w 80 PLUS GOLD 150$ x2 = 300$
  • Case: Home made 20$

Total: 1770$

The total of Kh/s that this miner will produce is 400-450 (each gpu) or 2400-2700 at all.

Work in progress: AMD FX-8350 / ASUS Sabertooth 990fx / ASUS GTX 770 2GB / Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1866 MHZ / Cooler Master V-Series 700W /Samsung 840 Pro 128GB / WD Caviar Blue 1T 7200rpm / Corsair H100i / Fractal Design Define R4 /

I personally would step up to 280X's. They output more, and pay themselves back much quicker. You will also need some risers, Also a dummy plug for the 24 pin on the second PSU. :D

What part of the world do you live in? I know certain retailers in certain areas that haven't jacked the prices. You could also just buy less cards, But more powerful ones.

1700W should be fine.

Ah. That sucks. I'd say get 2 or 2 280X's and work your way from there.

You might later, yes. But for now to run 3 280X's you could run those off a 1200W PSU.

jajajajaja, don't take it the wrong way but in my country doesn't exist online store, and the local store are still selling AMD HD 5450 and Nvidia GT 210 like top tier cards, so yeah...

then your only option is to buy 6 asus or msi r9 270's and oc them to get a few more kh/s ;)

and yes, those two power supplies will probably be enough

I'm going to edit this post if I find any better psu :D

So, I found this nzxt(good brand) power supply which has 6 6+2pin connectors which means that 2 of them for your 6 270's wibb pe perfect   :)

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006I2H08Y/?tag=pcpapi-20

and yeah... it's cheaper than the corsair one that you suggested. but because it's cheaper it doesn't means that it's not good

5 270s pull under 900W. You could easily run 6 off a 1200W PSU.

I personally would step up to 280X's. They output more, and pay themselves back much quicker. You will also need some risers, Also a dummy plug for the 24 pin on the second PSU. :D

The 280x outputs more per card, but the 270s have a better hash/watt and better hash/$ ratio so they would pay themselves off more quickly.

freeNAS server: AMD Athlon II 170u 20W, 5 x 3TB WD Red in raid-z1 (12 TB)
