problems updating to windows 8.1....

so ive bought myself a new ultra book recently, a Sony vaio pro 13 to be exact. it came with window 8 as stock and for some reason seems not to be upgradable to windows 8.1. i am completely up to date and am running the latest version of windows 8 and yet i have not received any notification nor have i been offered an upgrade anywhere in the store. what can i do? is there another way to get windows 8.1? (without pirateing)

Hopefully the above tutorial can help you out. When I upgraded mine, I only had to make sure all the Windows Updates were installed, then reboot computer, then go into windows store and it was right there for me.

Download and install this. Then the update will show up on windows app store.

Be sure to uninstall (not disable.. uninstall) any security software you have before doing the upgrade.

It can, like many, block the upgrade process and fail the install, or end up with a not working great Win 8.1 due to some files failed to be installed properly as the A/V block it.

This a Microsoft recommandation.
