Difference between GPU

Bansys

Im looking into buying a system and Im not sure what GPU put on in. Main specs so far

OS: Linux

Processor: AMD® Ryzen™ 5 or 7

Memory: Up to 32 GB Dual Channel DDR4 @ 2933 MHz

GPU options :

-Radeon RX Vega 11

-Radeon RX 550

-Radeon RX 580

-GeForce RTX 2070

-GeForce RTX 2080

-Titan V

My question is what GPU will you put in for a average/casual experience gaming (Possible playing new games) and why?

a RTX 2080 and even a 2070 are kind of overkill for casual gaming but if you're not held back by money then I guess it's your choice what you want to buy.

An RX 550 and the vega 11 probably won't be enough without cranking the settings down. I see literally no point in buying the Titan V in less you're joking. If I remember right, the RTX 2080 Ti beats the Titan V in gaming and still costs less (unless you get a used Titan V).

I would stick with an RTX 2060 or RX 580 8gb for your needs, but it depends on what resolution and settings you're using.

This is the strangest line up ever, its like comparing a toyota corolla and a lamborghini. Whats your budget? Theres a massive difference between a rx550 and a 2080

If going for ryzen grab a 3200mhz ram kit. Ryzen benefits a lot from higher speed ram.

You can can try to OC your 2993mhz but still advise grabbing a kit or 3200mhz especially with the ram prices dropping lately

your list is basically from bare minimum to wildly overkill

this is integrated graphics on the Ryzen 5 2400G, beaten by the GTX 1050 even.

This is a $3000 graphics card with a load of tensor and Cuda cores which is absolutely not best suited for gaming.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

They perform the same but the 2080 Ti is a gaming specific card while the TITAN V is a hardware acceleration/compute card hence the huge price difference.

OP there is absolutely no consistency on the video cards you listed as options.

Vega 11 is an APU, if you can buy the V then you should just grab a 2080 Ti and call it a day.

If you are trying to figure out value then the best value would be the RX 580

I mean...the rx 580 is probably the answer out of all of those. 2070 is an awful value card, 2080 is probably unnecessary and Titan V is an overpriced Nvidia showoff project.

Just get the RX 580 and you should be able to play every game at 1080p medium, more likely high/ultra at 60fps consistently.

The reason I didnt list budget is that I'm looking into buying from System76, specifically their desktop lineup "Thelio". Monitor I will probably buy from them as well 2x 27" 1440p Matte Pro IPS Display (2560x1440)

CPU is listed AMD® Ryzen™ 5 or 7

I't will no be mainly for gaming. I will use it mainly for work. I'll run a few VM on it
