can i used my laptop as a monitor for my desktop?

i just got a new desktop, i dont have the monitor yet, so i want to use my bootcamp macbook pro as a monitor, some people say yes and some people say no, so can i actually connect to desktop as a monitor?

If your laptop has a video in port, then yes.

 

The chances of this being the case are extremely low, though.

You could use a 'remote desktop' program to view your desktop on your mackbook, this would require some setup though.

Not in any way that you'd want it to work no. You'll have to find an actual temporary monitor.

 

Or an overhead projector.

 

Or a TV with HDMI.

 

Or your neighbors old CRT.

i do have win 10 enterprise which has remote desktop, but i think i need to setup windows and remote on the desktop

Most laptops only have video out, so it's not likely that you'll be able to use it that way.

It depends on the laptop. I have an Alienware m17xr4 that has HDMI in which allows me to use the laptop monitor as a display for anything with HDMI out. Another PC, XBOX, etc.

finding an adapter for hdmi input to thunderbolt because my laptop is  MBP
