Hey guys,

1 quick question for my new build. I know there's the bottleneck website calculator but I just don't trust it too much. So that's why I am here. I would like to now if my new setup would have any kind of bottlenecking (CPU or GPU). So here are the specs:

- GTX 1060 6GB

- Ryzen 5 2600

- 1stick of 8GB DDR4 RAM

- 1 Kingston SSD 120GB

- 1 Toshiba HDD 1TB

-  ASROCK Mainboard B450M-HDV

- Playing at 1920×1080 resolution 60Hz refresh rate

Thanks for the replies guys!

I would recommend swapping the 1060 for an Rx 570, they are often better performing at a better price.

That would be the RX580 or 590, definitely not the 570

GTX 1060 6GB outperforms the RX 570. By a fair bit. RX570 is more comparable to a 1050Ti.
An RX580 8GB might be a better idea though.

You should spend the extra ~$30 and get 2x8GB sticks. You will want dual channel with fast memory for Ryzen CPUs. RAM prices have dropped significantly in the last 12 months so really no reason not to. 2x8GB 3000MHz kits start at under $70 USD now.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

Any other motherboard in that price range? Well first of all if RX580 is cheaper get that, dual channel memory is helping gpu so it can perform better so I think get a 2x8gb would be good.

It wouldn't probably I mean the both of them is not that powerful anyway except you go ultra settings 1060 might be the bottleneck.

I would consider getting 2 x4 GB of ram or 2x 8. Also, 2666 mhz or higher.

8 gigs 1 stick + future upgradability is better I'm.

And I'd swap the storage for a 500 gig so w/ no hard drive

I do agree about the drive, in case he is open to upgrades in the future the single stick (of fast memory) is fine too.
